  Here's an overview of the entire two hours - everything will be prepared for you and you'll have a special container to take your completed projects home. This is a great way to get started on your holiday cards AND place your order so that everything is back by the first week of September.  I'll be hosting some special holiday card-making events in September, October and November.

August Stamp of the Month - Tag It

August Stamp of the Month Blog Tour - TAG IT

My first contribution is an early Christmas card.  It was so much fun trying out many new products from the Holiday catalog. I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base and added a layer of Whisper White stamped with Cherry Cobbler using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. I then embossed it with the Big Shot and the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two red circles were created using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch and topped with a Frosted Finishes Embellishment.

 

I added a couple of strips from the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape. I'm working on putting more layered effects into my cards. This was accomplished by using the Santa Tag It Stamp, hand- colored with Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers. The tag is hanging from a triple layer of Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine and was cut out using the Chalk Talk framelits.  I added a small "ribbon" of Whisper White Card Stock with the "Ho Ho Ho" stamped in Gumball Green from the Oh, Goodie! Stamp Set.

Finally - to create a "finished look" to the card, I added a layer of Whisper White Card Stock topped with two more strips of the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape.

My second card was made using the new Label Card Thinlits Dies. I started with Whisper White Card Stock, ran it through the Big Shot first with the Thinlits and then using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

The labels were created with Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper and with Whisper White (inside.) I cut two additional strips of Gingham Garden DSP to outline the edges of the card - then punched the butterfly out of DSP using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

The two circles on the front of the label were made using Island Indigo Card Stock and Strawberry Slush Card Stock as well as the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and 1-3/8" Circle Punch. They are completed using the Vintage Faceted Designer Button and Island Indigo Baker's Twine. The Butterfly is adorned with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The back of the label cut out on the inside of the card uses Whisper White sponged with Island Indigo Ink and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. A Get Well Card - with the sentiment coming from our TAG IT Stamp Set.

The Blog Becomes a Reality!

So, today, I prepare for the reality of blogging on a regular basis. I'm so excited about my Stampin' Up! business and the wonderful new tools, stamps, papers and gift ideas for the holidays. My goal is to start sharing some of my projects and techniques - beginning with my first-ever BLOG HOP on Sunday of this coming weekend! Make sure to check back on Sunday, August 11th for the very special "Tag It" Blog Hop.  There are several of my fellow demonstrators that will be sharing different takes on the same stamp set.  You'll see lots of new and different ideas and just have some fun traveling through all of the different sites.  So - stay tuned for that!
